WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE SICK

Wall Decals and Signage

COVID-19 Safety Decals .If you suspect you are sick with coronavirus disease aka Covid-19, or are showing any symptoms, it is important to follow the steps on this fact sheet to help prevent spreading it to people in your home and community. We offer this fact sheet as a vinyl decal to be applied to any smooth flat surface in your workplace.

It is important that everyone stay at home as much as possible to avoid passing coronavirus to one another so that we don’t overwhelm our healthcare services. These vinyl decal signs help remind everyone of the importance of social distancing to avoid passing the virus.

If you have fever, cough, or shortness of breath, it is important to call your healthcare provider. They may tell you to manage your care from home. Follow these tips:

1. Cover your cough and sneezes. Use your elbow, not your hand, as if you sneeze or cough in your hand you will then just transfer the virus to anything you touch.

2. Monitor your symptoms carefully. If your symptoms get worse, call your healthcare provider immediately. Follow the instructions given.

3. If you have a medical appointment set, call the healthcare provider ahead of time and tell them that you have or may have COVID-19. Follow their instructions. They may have you wait out in the car until they are ready to see you.

4. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 70% alcohol. Soap and water is preferable, and a sanitizer is good if you don’t have access to soap and running water. Soap breaks down the outer ‘envelope’ of the virus and leaves it exposed. When washing your hands for 20 or more seconds, be sure to rub your hands together vigorously rubbing the palms together, then rubbing the back of each hand, interlacing the fingers, and don’t forget the fingernails, knuckles, and wrists!

5. As much as possible, stay in a separate room away from other people in your home. Also, you should use a separate bathroom, if available. If you need to be around other people in or outside of the home, wear a face mask. Don’t shake out dirty clothes or bed sheets to avoid spreading the virus. Wipe down surfaces frequently with a disinfectant. If you are taking care of someone else, try not to take items out of the quarantine room more than necessary.

6. Stay home from work, school, and away from other public places. If you must go out, avoid using any kind of public transportation, ride-sharing, taxis, or Ubers. You don’t want to give the virus to anyone else.

7. Avoid sharing personal items with other people in your household, like dishes, towels, and bedding.

8. Get rest and stay hydrated. Try to avoid refined sugars as they aren’t good for your immune system.

9. Clean all surfaces that are touched often, like counters, tabletops, and doorknobs. Use household cleaning sprays or wipes according to the label instructions. You can also use bleach water using 4 teaspoons of bleach per quart of water. This water is good to sanitize for 4 hours before the bleach water loses it’s disinfecting qualities and you need to make a fresh batch.

10. For medical emergencies, call 911 and notify the dispatch personnel that you have or may have COVID-19.
